Scholarships, neurologists and Burma

October 11, 2007

I’m home sick (nasty cold and sore throat), Luis has taken Maya to an indoor playground to run off some energy and the weather has turned to crap again.  It seems to be a good opportunity catch up with some website and photo albums- so here I am.

Not that there is a whole lot of news to add after the last post.  We are still working on our plans for next year.  I have submitted 2 scholarship applications but there is time no to sit back and relax yet, I am still working on a research proposal for my formal application to enrol (probably what I really should be doing now!). Luis has had a series of meetings and phone calls with the disabilty support staff at the university and looks on track to re-enrol next year.  We are a bit upset that he has been bumped off the neurology waiting list at the hospital and will have to be reassessed before he can go back on it (a numbers game for the hospital… I do love that we have a socialised health care system but it can be exasperatingly slow and frustrating).   In the meantime he continues to live with and manage his headaches as best as he can.

Maya’s latest adventures include going to an Action for Burma rally with Mummy, spending a whole night at Grandma and Grandad’s, going to the university with Papi and helping Aunty Ruth make a garden.  More on her own page here, as well as more photos in our smugmug album.
